Paphiopedilum parishii

This is a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic and sometimes terrestrial species most often occuring high up on large trees in association with ferns and bird's nests, has oblong-ligulate, leathery, clear green, bifid apically leaves, that is found in Assam India, Myanmar, Thailand and Yunnan China at elevations of 1250 to 2200 meters that flowers in the winter with a sub-erect, terminal, pale green, pubescent, to 2' [60 cm] long, multiflowered inflorescence that has ovate, inflated bracts that cover 1/2 to 3/4 of the ovary and requires shade as well as even watering and fertilizer year round.
It is a multiforal plant and all the blooms open at the same time.
